Law Society

The Law Society has two main roles
One which regulates the profession and the second which works on behalf of their members to promote their industry. For property law, most are likely to be members of the Law Society and they can practice all types of legal work, where as conveyancers are restricted to the one area of legals, buying and selling a property.

Legal members usually have a degree is law, but may also have a diploma. All are regulated by the Society and have to adhere to a professional code of conduct. The society also offers a complaints service if you have any problems with its members.
