The Council is like a 'specialised' version of the Law Society for those that have knowledge and experience of Property Law. To become a licenced conveyancer they have to pass the relevant exams and then practice as a conveyancer by working for large financial institutions or for a solicitor. After three years of experience they can apply for their own licence and deal directly with the public, either through the same companies or by setting up a company of their own.
Benefits?
All licenced conveyancers have to abide by a code of conduct, and have taken the relevant exams and have sufficient experience as an acting conveyancer.
Contact Them:
As with the Law Society you can mainly contact them for help with finding a solicitor.
